Jack Has Arrived!!!

My water broke yesterday morning at 4:30 AM and Jack was born at 9:34 AM. Everything went well and he seems to be a very mellow baby. So for the record....

Baby Update

OMG! I may have to go to 42 weeks before they'll induce me!! The only progress I've made is that the baby has dropped and is at a-1. Otherwise we're in a holding pattern. This is foreign to me as Olivia came @ 39 weeks, Nick @ 37 weeks, and Jared @ 36 weeks. I think I'll make a t-shirt for next week that says "Induce Me". I've had vertigo so the Dr. says not to be home alone. I really don't care, but Damian does. He played hooky again from work. Steph said she'd babysit me if necessary. Mom went AWOL as she just can't handle the fact that this baby has a mind of it's own. She flipped out and flew the coop. Pray for contraction action!

The First Day of School

Getting ready for the 1st day was pretty easy this year! All clothes bought over the internet. Shoes bought at Stride Right (no crowds). Supplies bought from Target. And most importantly, avoiding the mall completely!! Jared was less than enthusiastic about going back and Nick of course was eager to be back! Jared was glad to see his BFF Kody. Both classes appear to be stinker free! As I surveyed who was in their classes, it dawned on me that most of the kids were some of my past, best students. What a relief! Since the teachers are my friends/co-workers as well, we had inside info on their vices of choice. Jared gave his teacher, Mrs. Galland a Diet Coke and a $15.00 gift card to Office Depot and Nick gave his teacher, Mrs. Takach a Dr. Pepper with a gift card as well. I was glad to be able to document the kids big day. I decided I would not be in labor this morning (yes that's right, no baby yet!) So, to be supportive of my long term sub, I also made an appearance in my class this morning. The kids were eerily well behaved! I guess because my class last year was so NOT stinker free, I was expecting the worse. Damian, my body guard was with me. We wanted to be there in case of runners. I didn't have a single crier or runner, and I must say they are cute! Becky (friend, scrapbook pal, last year's room mom, 15 year teaching veteran, and evil twin) is taking my class for the next few weeks. She seems super excited to be there and I am completely weirded out by not being there. I decided I would like to have the baby today. Reason #1- Dr. Lewis is on call. Reason #2-Celina works the night shift (a friend and past room parent of mine that made sure I got to stay in the birthing room/suite for my entire stay with Olivia). Reason #3- I did not miss the 1st day of school. So with that in mind, I think I'll go clean grout and try to go into labor.

Baby Shower and Maternity Pictures

Steph (hostess) and Kiahna (salad coordinator) helped to give me a shower! I must say, my friends have spoiled Jack way too much and he is not even here yet! Becky made Jack an awesome Buzz Lightyear blanket which Olivia thinks is hers. Well, she thinks everything is hers. Anyway! here is a picture of just some of the gifts given. I couldn't fit them all in the picture. One of the favors that Steph had set out at each place setting was one of my pre-madonna photo in a little frame. My friend Steph is a fabulous photographer in town and offered to do these for me. I had hoped she'd forget, but remembered and insisted I do it. I must say, I am extremely pleased (not that I doubted Steph's talent-she is amazing) I thought the word to describe them was ethereal. Kiahna said they were naughty. You have a dirty mind my friend! I am wearing a tankini! Anywho! Jack update- Dr. Lewis said I am dilated to 1cm and the baby's head is about 3/4 in position. He figures it may be a few more weeks. His theory is the more babies I have, the longer I cook them. As soon as he is here, I'll post his picture.
